The Palmetto State, appropriately nicknamed, does have a palm tree on its flag. Rightly so then, tourism is a major contributor to the state’s economy. Other industrial outputs include textiles, chemical products, paper products and machinery. 24-hour food is also prominent, with the state being home to restaurant chain giant Denny’s. LabCorp, one of the largest clinical laboratory networks, also has its headquarters in South Carolina.
