POSITION SUMMARY: To work directly with in-house PR Manager in the marketing department at Numi Organic Tea in Oakland. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with a brand that is growing quickly and learn the organic and fair trade space. We shall need the intern to be a self- starter, highly independent and flexible. Intern will assist in sample orders, incoming and outgoing calls, all with the intention of garnering national press hits. One area of focus will be creating and managing donation requests with local and national non-profit groups while another significant area of work will be increasing Numi’s online presence in various websites, social networks and blogs. Intern will also be expected to assist in updating and organizing media databases. REQUIREMENTS: A strong desire to learn new things and collaborate in a team oriented environment. Basic Photoshop skills are required. Understanding and willingness to learn the basic principles of PR. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and prioritization skills to balance multiple projects and demands. Ability to take initiative and be flexible. Enthusiastic, Self-starter and team player. Computer literate and Internet savvy – familiar with social networking sites i.e. MySpace, Facebook, Tribe, etc. Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Adobe Acrobat Successful candidate must have college major in mass communications, journalism or marketing, or demonstrated interest in or previous experience PR. Preferred candidates have completed junior year. Pay: 6 month stipend commensurate with experience
