Description: Teach basic English and research to Santhal tribal children and women in India. Learn about the community culture and art also volunteer's work. The village, North Sehalli is 200 hundred kilometers from the city Kolkata(Calcutta) and 12 kilo meters from the small and internationally known town Santiniketan which is the place of Nobel laureate Rabindra Nath Tegore, the place of culture and art of West Bengal, India. There are more than 700 hundred Santhal Tribe and 270 families live in village North Sehalli. There is no electricity, no sanitation not even one toilet, no land, no school to learn English and art... they are loosing now their primitive culture. Now we are running a school from February 2007. We need volunteers/interns to gain experience and help to work for Santhal Community. We request an affordable fee for our placements. Accommodation and three mouth watering Indian great meals are included. We will also help arrange for to learn cooking Indian food. We invite the all to participate based on our specific needs and their qualifications. This is a great opportunity to add some solid and meaningful international experience to your resume-CV. We will be most happy to provide potential future employers with written recommendations. For this volunteers job we can't pay any money or remuneration or any flight fare to come to India. It is free service for tribal community.
