IRVINE NATURE CENTER MISSION The Irvine Nature Center is a non-profit educational organization that offers programs of environmental studies and natural science to children and adults of the greater Baltimore area. Its mission is to inspire appreciation and respect for the natural world, to increase awareness of environmental issues, and to encourage individuals to sustain earth’s ecosystem. POSITION DESCRIPTION To prepare for and lead public environmental education programs, scout programs and Nature Birthday Parties To assist with live animal care and maintenance To assist with trail and garden maintenance To complete independent projects and other tasks as needed for the Center QUALIFICATIONS Work experience with children Strong communication skills Knowledge of environmental issues and natural history; majors in natural sciences, biology, education, or related fields preferred Experience in environmental education a plus Your own transportation COMPENSATION $8. 00/ hour Training in natural history Experience teaching outdoors TIME COMMITMENT Saturdays (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
