    Brick Wall Management

    We are a music artist management and entertainment consulting firm that has very strong ties within the music industry. Our internship provides a perfect entry-level opportunity for individuals seeking a position in the extremely competitive marketplace of the music world. Brick Wall Management is also the headquarters for The Kristen Ann Carr Fund, which provides grants for cancer research and seeks to improve all aspects of cancer patient life with an emphasis on adolescents and young adults. The fund has sparked the interest of such names as Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and Shania Twain. Aside from our management and not-for-profit work, we here at Brick Wall provide consulting to other management firms and entertainment entities. Consulting work in the past has included the handling of all VIP ticketing/credentials for the 1999-2000 Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band World Tour. We also consult for the artist advocacy and development website, StarPolish.

    Marine Science Intern/Volunteer Instructor

    Aquatic Adventures is an award winning non-profit science education organization that works with San Diego’s most underserved elementary, middle and high school students to promote marine science and environmental understanding and action. This internship/volunteer opportunity relates to one of the programs Aquatic Adventures offers, which is the SEA (Science, Education, and Awareness) Series program which brings the marine sciences into elementary and middle school classrooms in underserved communities at no cost to the schools. Each unit of the Series involves activities such as dissections, water quality testing, and contact with live animals, microscope work, experiments, and field trips. Position Overview: • Assist in presentation of in-class hands-on science activities and lessons at low-income schools • Lead exciting outdoor field trips (tide pooling, research vessel excursions, wetlands, etc) • Participate in informal science settings at off-site events (career fairs, Earth Day events, and other thematic expos) • Possible development of new innovative programs or lessons Position Commitment: • Interns are asked to make a commitment of at least two months to cover an entire SEA Series unit • 5-15 hours/week (hours will be variable, weekends may be required) • Interns/Volunteers typically work 1-2 mornings a week: Requirements: • Working toward or completion of four-year degree in science and/or education • Passionate toward the native environment • Knowledge of local marine habitats, flora, and fauna • Ability to communicate scientific concepts to youth • Enthusiasm for working with youth from diverse backgrounds • Prompt and dependable • Interest in both science and education • Dedicated to the concept of promoting equal opportunity for under-represented students • Instructors must provide their own transportation • Successfully pass state fingerprinting check (live-scan)
