Title: Marketing/Programming Intern Description: This intern position would work closely with the marketing coordinator on the planning and organization of marketing needs for various special events, examples include lonestargridiron.com and working closely with area leaders in sports. Intern would need to be in place the quarter prior to and of the event. Lonestargridiron.com has strong partnerships with several companies in the greater Houston, Texas area. The intern along with the President of Corporate Development is responsible for creating and developing activities that will lead to increased membership or sponsorship sales. Experience. It helps to have worked as an event coordinator with a sports or event organization, or to have worked in sales or marketing for a fitness company. Covers sporting events, answers phones, researches, writes, and produces stories. Assists in production of play-by-play presentations and sports talk shows, including: booking, ideation, audio production, editing, completion of promotional/programming paperwork, and special projects. Assists in production of Lonestargridiron.com show, including: audio production, developing show ideas, booking guests, editing and special projects. Also supports duties as needed and web work. Strong oral communications skills, as this position will involve “cold calling” and direct client/prospect contact responsibilities. Interest in and basic understanding of the sponsorship/sales process.
