My anchor client is an East Coast multimedia & IT development company, which is seeking qualified interns for conducting online data mining, research and other related assistance. The client has asked that I managed the interns in San Diego. This is a non-paying position. The Internship offers the student an opportunity to track and learn about various markets, news and industry trends in IT. The Intern will receive instruction where necessary on the use of project management tools, planning and other business software. Qualifications. The ideal candidate will possess analytical skills with an entrepreneurial spirit that enables him/her to identify market opportunities, and use street smarts to extract relevant data from news sources. Internet data mining, MS Office skills, using news feeds, excellent communications and writing skills and general interest in technology are requisites for the position. The applicant must have access to his/her own computer and a broadband Internet connection. My client does not have a San Diego office yet, so most research and activities will be conducted by the student from his/her home. Occasional meetings may be necessary in or near Downtown 92101. MBA students preferred. Should the Internship prove successful, participants will receive a letter of recommendation along with a description of their activities and participation for my client. This can be an excellent hands-on experience and resume building opportunity, while providing exposure to new software applications and learning about hi tech markets.
