    ART studio/Employment Training Intern

    ARTiculate EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PROGRAM The ARTiculate Employment Training Program provides professional arts instruction and vocational training in arts entrepreneurship to participating artist apprentices with special needs ages 14 through 24. The program operates to assist its participants in developing the skills needed to transition from school to the working world and greater community. ARTiculate gives participants invaluable experience in attaining global work skills. These experiences include curating exhibits and assisting in operations of the ARTiculate Gallery, marketing their personal artwork, and as a result, ultimately acquiring the social and employment skills needed to gain employment, job shadowing opportunities and internships. ARTiculate Intern duties may include, but are not limited to: Setting up studios for classes (organizing materials, work space) Assisting in carrying out curriculum by providing hands-on support to participants with various art techniques such as acrylic/watercolor painting, printing techniques. Assist in monitoring the participants’ workplace behavior/etiquette (language, sign in/out, goal planning, implementing deadlines, etc.) Breaking down classes (clean-up, dismissal, collecting materials, etc.) Providing assistance to participants in the Information Technology component of the program, such as word processing, digital photography & imaging, internet use, etc. Assisting instructors in maintaining classroom logs, carrying out written assessments, etc. Assisting staff with administrative tasks (phone calls, filing, copying, faxing, etc.)
