    IMPACT Silver Spring

    IMPACT Silver Spring is a nonprofit organization located in the heart of downtown Silver Spring. Our mission is to create the capacity needed to build and sustain a thriving, multicultural Silver Spring. We do this by: raising awareness, developing leadership, building relationships, fostering dialogue and facilitating collaborative action. We support members of diverse backgrounds to work collaboratively across lines of race, class and culture to achieve changes within our schools, neighborhoods, and general community lives. We achieve this through our core programs, Neighborhood IMPACT, a unique and intensive leadership training and community action program; Lasting IMPACT, a continuing support and community action network for program graduates; IMPACT in the Schools, an immigrant and minority parent empowerment and support organizing initiative; and Community IMPACT, a program that links new and emerging leaders to established leaders to build relation-ships across diverse sectors and create awareness of challenging issues effecting Silver Spring. IMPACT offers AmeriCorps members the opportunity to gain a well rounded knowledge of nonprofit management in a fun environment that is conducive for personal growth.
