    Human Services Center Corporation

    The Human Services Center was created in 1982 under an initiative of the Allegheny County Commissioners. As a private, non profit 501c3 organization, the Center is owned and operated by the Human Services Center Corporation (HSCC). The following core programs of the HSCC : The HSCC Youth Programs include: -The Kids Outgoing, Outdoing, and Learning (KOOL) Summer Program for 125 youth ages five to twelve. -The Youth Learning In a Fun Environment (Youth LIFE) After-School Program for 90 youth ages five to eighteen. -The Emerging Leaders Program is the workforce development component of the Youth LIFE Program that provides career and employment education to youth ages 14 to 18. -The Health and Safety Fair provides health and safety demonstrations and information to over 300 area children in the spring. -The Holiday Toy Program assists thousands of children with free toys through 50 agencies and food pantries and thanks to the donations of dozens of corporations, churches, civic groups, and individuals. The McKeesport Collaborative has created new linkages for women and children facing problems caused by substance abuse. Over fifty agencies work together, allowing participants to access many different services. The Mon Valley Providers Council (MVPC) is an alliance of human service and related organizations which work to fill gaps in services (primarily in Employment and Training, Health, Housing, and Youth) and are based in or have a substantial service presence in the Mon Valley.
